Some Doctor News

As I wrote previous Nolan had his GI doctor's appointment this past week, and it went decent. There are no answers, yet. We have a few things to try and do and we meet back in one month. As of now, the Dr. is looking into a possible sugar that is in all the food that Nolan can't tolerate. One of the ideas the nutritionist suggested to try is to give Nolan avocados. (He has had them before, but not on a regular basis.) So, today, I blended up avocados and bananas together and Nolan inhaled it up like applesauce. Lilyann on the other hand was not so easily tricked.

Time for a nutrition lesson: avocados are a great source of good fat and easily digested. Also since it has a thick skin, the pesticides aren't easily absorbed into the good part.

I also took both kids to a sick visit with their pediatrician yesterday. We left there with this news: Lilyann has a double ear infection, so she was given an antibiotic. Unfortunately this is her sixth ear infection in a year so the Dr. referred us to a ENT specialist in order to get her hearing tested and tubes put in. And Nolan walked out of the Dr. office with an antibiotic. The gist of it is this: Nolan had an elevated WBC count about 1 month ago, so they repeated yesterday and it was elevated from the previous time. Since during the physical exam there was no sign of infection, no fever they decided to check for a UTI. (FYI-Do you know how they check for an UTI on a male infant?....not so fun) And, no UTI. So, the antibiotic is there to see if it brings the WBC count down... we go back in two weeks.
I see the pediatrician entirely way too often. I feel as though I need to invite her over for dinner or we need to go out for coffee. Lily gave her a "big hug and kiss", its like she's family.

I think that I am doing to get a magnet on my car that reads "Pediatric Medical Transporter". Cute?
